Solid Rock Community Development Corporation’s Housing Stability work is focused on creating pathways to safe, quality, and attainable housing for individuals and families in Southeast Colorado Springs. We recognize that housing stability looks different for every family. Our work includes developing quality affordable rental housing while expanding pathways to homeownership and other opportunities that help residents establish long-term stability. Through community-driven investment and strong partnerships, SRCDC works to address housing barriers and create opportunities for residents to put down roots, remain connected to their community, and build a foundation for economic mobility and generational wealth.

What is Solid Rock CDC doing?

Solid Rock CDC is actively engaged in the development of affordable housing projects that respond directly to the needs of Southeast Colorado Springs. Village at Solid Rock is SRCDC’s flagship affordable housing development and represents a cornerstone of our commitment to neighborhood stability, resident dignity, and equitable development.

Building on this momentum, SRCDC is advancing its second affordable housing development, Jet Wing Flats, in partnership with Commonwealth Development. Jet Wing Flats will be a 70-unit multifamily affordable housing community, with construction scheduled to begin in January 2026. SRCDC has worked alongside its development partner to secure key funding commitments, including support through the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).

Together, these developments reflect SRCDC’s growing role as a long-term community partner focused on creating attainable housing options that strengthen families and the broader Southeast Colorado Springs community.

Why is this necessary?

A lack of affordable housing solutions continues to be a significant barrier for residents of Southeast Colorado Springs who are navigating financial, social, and systemic challenges. Housing costs in the region have outpaced wage growth for many working households, creating increased pressure on families seeking stable and affordable places to live.

Current market conditions show that home prices and rental costs remain out of reach for many residents, particularly those earning low to moderate incomes. The extremely competitive housing market in our region is one of the highest in the state, and the average housing price of $400,000. When households are burdened by housing costs, it limits their ability to meet other essential needs such as food, healthcare, transportation, and education. SRCDC’s affordable housing efforts are designed to respond to these realities by creating attainable housing options that reduce cost burden, promote stability, and allow residents to remain rooted in the communities they help sustain.
